With the manager a coordinated effort may be used during gameplay. A pair of players takes the part of playing the whole team. One player will control a specific character on screen while the other will manage the rest of the team as a whole through the manager.
More advanced team management options will be opened with the Freestyle manager. For example players are now able to trade characters to further improve their team. And a new AI system will allow for games to begin faster. The AI will kick into gear once 1 player from each side is ready and will take the part of their partner during the game until a new player joins.
