GamesCampus is set to introduce Tank Ace a new MMOTPS (Massive Multiplayer Online Third-Person Shooter) featuring... you guessed it tanks. To be more specific the game is a World War II based tank game. Tank Ace even goes as far as advertising themselves as the "best free to play WWII shooter around."

The game will feature many notable tank models during the WWII era, as well as many famous battlefields during the war. According to the fact sheets each tank will have similar features and stats as their real world counterparts.

Each battlefield will have natural features such as trees and hills to encourage players to form tactics against each other in a larger scale battle. Taking key areas and getting into higher positions will be key to victory like in real WWII tank confrontations.

Players will be able choose among 3 factions to join from, the Russians, Germans, and the Americans. Players will be able to interact with each other out of battle in "Camps" which is cities played in the third person with your human character.

As like most PC shooters the controls it will be using are wasd and the mouse for aiming and shooting. It is not sure if there will be gamepad or controller support for the game.

 Tank Ace MMO

Tanks will be highly customizable to with insignias, armor, guns and tank crews. Each tank will have 10 hit areas with different defense ratings, mimicking real life tanks.

Closed beta is coming up and will begin on December 17th and the game is set to begin official service early 2010. Check out the game at http://tankace.gamescampus.com.
